This picture, titled Intersection of Dreams (1985), clearly reflects Steven Arnold’s interests in Jungian psychology, the surrealists, and his Eastern understanding of the codependent polarities of consciousness and matter.
A couple asleep, dreaming, produces a galaxy of solar symbols of material progress intersecting lunar symbols of passive reflection – illustrating not only the subconscious worlds of the subjects, but playfully exploring universal principles of many Eastern Philosophies.
